Community
First
We believe yoga is for everyone. No investment firms. No top-down owners. Just teachers and community working together to build something rooted in care.
Our studio is built by us, for us.
What is a Co-op?
Imagine a yoga studio where the teachers are also the owners, and you — our community — get a say. That was the dream when Manny and Paco got together in summer 2020 for lunch and yoga at the park. What if we build something that didn’t exist yet?
Six years and six more teacher-owners later, we’re the first officially established worker-owned yoga cooperative in Illinois.
We follow the 10 principles of co-ops: self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, solidarity, honesty, openness, social responsibility, and caring for others.
Our Home &
How We Show Up
We opened our doors at 1830 W Foster Ave, Chicago, IL in January 2023 — but our vision goes beyond bricks and mortar.
We host both in-person and virtual classes, and partner with local groups to host programming and events across the city.
A Brave Space
for All
Being inclusive isn’t a box to check… it’s at the heart of everything we do.
We center LGBTQ+ voices and teachers of color, because modern yoga too often leaves these perspectives out.
We operate on a sliding scale model so financial status won’t lock anyone out.
We host no-cost community classes in partnership with neighborhood organizations like libraries and community centers to keep things accessible.
Let’s Grow
Together.
When you join us, you’re not just a member — you’re part of a movement. You get a voice and a vote in how we grow. That’s how we run things.
Whether you show up on the mat once or every day, you help shape the studio, the classes, and the vision.
Thanks for being here. We’re glad you found us — and we’re excited to see how we grow together.
